Alex Gajic hat trick and 2 helpers in OT win over Buffalo
In short, he was unstoppable. Not much anyone can do when Powell decides he's gonna go to the net. CP was not gonna let Orlando drop three straight to the Blazers. Wasn't gonna happen. Didn't happen.
Before a fourth quarter collapse by Minnesota like we've maybe never seen before, Crawford strung together a first half of lacrosse that was as dominating as anything else anyonedropped in Week 13.
He was absolutely unstoppable in both Rock wins, a strong last two games likely enough to edge out Garrett Billings in the rookie chase. Both players are in and around 15 points away from breaking Rhys Duch's single season rookie point total from last year.
Gavin Prout 5 goals and 6 assists during Rush post season Nike Vapormax Triple White
Stehphan Leblanc 17 points in Toronto's bounce back double win weekend
Lewis Ratcliff 4 goals and 5 assists against Edmonton
by that insane OT winner over the Swarm. No one was likely more exhausted than Merrill come Easter Sunday.
These big money performances by Gajic are really making the rookie race interesting, the Mammoth freshman lighting it up again while the Mammoth sneak out a nail biter against the Bandits.
Blaine Manning 5 goals and 5 assists vs. Calgary Philadelphia
Two in relief efforts, two dramatic Rush wins and an impact on Edmonton's double header weekend that now has even the league's most casual fans knowing the name Brandon Atherton. Atherton got little love in our pre season fan poll, maybe Week 13's biggest impact ball player.
He was absolutely all over the floor, and had Atherton not worked out, he probably woulda spent time in the Rush's cage too. Up and down, physical ball that was highlighted Nike Vapormax White Gold
of last week's individual showcases land in Insider's Three Star Challenge, and check back tomorrow for our updated leaderboard.
Although it came during a disappointing Calgary loss, Poulin's performance against Toronto was easily one of the best during Week 13, brilliant at times, seeing almost as much heat in the last two periods against the Rock as some keepers did during a full 60 minutes. He kept a salivating Rock offense to single digits, his 45 saves only bettered by
Mike Poulin 45 saves vs. Toronto
Callum Crawford 5 goals and 5 helpers against Rush
Casey Powell 4 goals vs. Boston
Ryan Powell hat trick, 6 assists and a pretty big OT blast
His season numbers might dip a bit this year versus his digits in Colorado, but Prout has produced continuously when the Rush need him most this year, doing it all weekend during Edmonton's double header/double win Week 13, working relentlessly off ball, setting up the OT winner versus Washington and then the extremely late OT inducing fourth period tying goal against Minnesota.
He was about 14 seconds away from likely being named the league's defensive player of the week, but the Swarm's fourth period collapse and then that OT gaff that still had Swarm head coach Mike Lines wondering what happened during the league's media call today, slipped him down the board a bit. Leading into that indescribable fourth period, Patterson had allowed just six goals on 42 shots and looked just amazing throughout.
Some absolutely amazing individual performances coming outta the National Lacrosse League's Week 13, win or lose.
Biggest clutch performer of Week 13, one of the biggest goals of the year on Friday night, and his tear up the floor after he shut things down, one of the greatest moments of the year. If those kinda games and performances don't get more people through the Rexall turnstiles, then nothing will.
Nick Patterson 53 saves in OT loss to Edmonton
Brodie Merrill 5 goal, 5 assists, 31LB and an OT winner
When the Stealth were in search of a goal, it was Ratcliff who was Nike Vapormax Laceless On Feet either scoring or setting up nine of their 13 in one of this year's best games in Edmonton on Friday night. Was looked to and will continue to be looked to for more big production and leadership with Jeff Zywicki sidelined for at least the short term. Arguably his best season since '07 in Calgary.
The weekend buzz deservedly centered around Leblanc's tear, but Manning was just about as crucial in both Toronto wins, scoring the winner against Philly and setting up Leblanc's game winning snipe a night earlier. Similar to Ratcliff, 2010 has been Manning's best year in the bigs since probably the last time Terry Sanderson was in town.
With six post season spots yet to be decided and only a few weeks of regular season ball to go, guys are pulling out all the stops, Week 13 maybe the best weekend's worth of lacrosse we've seen this year. Three OT games, another two decided by two or less. Does it get any better? After the jump, check out where all Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit Explorer
