Jim says: "We normally do these things as a six piece (with Fi Fraser, Jo Freya and Georgina Boyes) and have been very busy on that front. And the adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book On Angels Wings and Best Christmas Present in The World are proving very popular. We are working with some fabulous people. Michael is very well connected!"
Jim says: "We were hoping it was our time as we have never had an inkling before and although Barry has won with John Tams this is the first time we have been nominated in our own right.
The trio will have to wait until February to see if they have won and will be busy with concerts before then. But there's also a chance to see them a Nike Vapormax Orange little closer to home in Belper for a special Christmas concert.
Having released two albums consisting of Christmas carols and hymns, which receive extensive airplay on Classic FM every festive season, the trio are in big demand at this time of year.

Jim says: "It's a long story and partly due to the projects we have done over there. But we will only be an hour from Calais and will be back regularly so there will still be Coope, Boyes and Simpson."

"We were in a quandary because there was a Best Band category and Best Duo but not a Best Trio. So we thought at one stage of saying it was Coope and Boyes with Lester Simpson!

But with 20 years' experience behind them and a string of acclaimed projects to their name, there's a feeling that recognition for Barry Coope, Jim Boyes and Lester Simpson as a trio is long overdue.

Jim says: "He wrote a track on our new album and we have done some of his songs in the past so it will be nice to be on a double header with him. So from now until the end of January it will be quite hectic."
Jim says: "People listen to Radio 2 and anything that draws people into music they haven't heard before is good."
In Belper, Coope, Boyes and Simpson will be performing their carols and their will also be chance for the audience to join in with seasonal favourites.
